Justin Reacts to "Mercy"

Last week’s episode of Star Trek: Picard was “Mercy” (PIC 2x08). This is the antepenultimate episode! Thank you for joining me on this adventure.

I totally meant to post this last week, but I had a lot on my mind and a lot going on, and so it got delayed until today. The night before the penultimate episode. Oh, brains!

Jay Karnes (the actor playing Agent Wells) was Lieutenant Ducane in the episode “Relativity” (VOY 5x24). He was not the FBI Agent from The Voyage Home. Also, USS Relativity was Wells-class! Coincidence? Possibly.

In the episode “Carbon Creek” (ENT 2x02), T’Mir said that there would be another survey vessel in another 20 years. “Carbon Creek” took place in 1957, and so 1977 or so makes sense for Agent Wells to be an adolescent.

The building in New York that I was thinking of is 33 Thomas Street, the likely location of a NSA mass surveillance hub codenamed TITANPOINTE - though I may also be thinking of 10-South.

Both municipal and federal officers have used unmarked vehicles to grab people unannounced.
